Welcome Competitor!

Here are the Need-to-Knows

Some Logistics

Gift Exchange

Similar to Last year, there will be a gag-gift exchange. This year will likely be white-elephant style. Feel free to re-gift, clean your closet, or otherwise identify a gift you wouldn't like to give someone you care about. Crafts are encouraged and gifts above $5 dollars will be labelled as "bougie"

Food and Snacks

Feel free to bring whatever snacks and drinks you like. Dinner is TBD but Pizza is a likely culprit

Time And Place

Location is TBD. The Games will be held on Saturday, January 24th. A specific time is yet to be decided.

Preparing for the Games

The only event which requires you to bring something is the gag-gift exchange. Participation in any game is optional, and all are welcome to come even if you just want to observe!

Game Ideas

If you have an idea for a quirky, fun game, LMK! Suggestions will be evaluated for 1. fair scoring and 2. appropriate silliness level. Don't want it to be taken too seriously but still want it to be fun!

What to Expect

The Unexpected

...no seriously what should I expect?

How it works

As a quick refresher since the last time we did this was a year ago, The Holiday Games are all about celebrating the winter holidays with some quirky and unserious competition! Each game will be scored in some way, and at the end a victor will be announced! The games are unique and optional. Everyone should feel welcome to their desired level of participation, though missing out on a game will hurt your chances at the title! Even though the games were delayed this year due to logistic constrainst, the spirit of the games is taking time to celebrate and enjoy the community that we have been given. It is our silly way to wish each other Merry Christmas and reflect on the birth of Jesus and what that means for our lives. He is the hope of humanity for deliverance from our own sin, and the reason we can celebrate.

Incidentally, the first game actually has already begun! Anyone who provides the sole member of the Scoring Committee a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup or a box of gummy scooby snacks between now and the awards ceremony will be awarded 2 points to their final score. Be sure to maintain secrecy about this, or you will lose your competitive advantage! When you provide this bribe (uh I mean gift), say nothing of your intention or the games. The member of the Scoring Committee will provide me the relevant info and your scores will reflect your having won this game. The score will not stack or scale, so don't feel the need to buy more than one of either choice.
